![]() One thing I forgot to add if you have a 144hz monitor then the gtx 1070 would be a good pair. ![]() Would you see a significant performance boost with the 480,1060 or 1070? Something that justifies the investment? I would also look to other videos, benchies and comparison reviews. Luckily if my 970's fan(s) die within the next 2 + years I can just submit an RMA. is my recommendation.īeing an owner of the 4690K and a 970 FTW that hopefully will upgrade to the 1070 in a year or so it would be interesting to see what the FPS difference is with the 1070 and your chip significantly overclocked and at stock with turbo but without the K. It will be expensive but imo will provide a more significant performance boost. The best course of action for someone who's card isn't malfunctioning would be to continue to save until the new line of GPUs come out and purchase one of the new GFX cards. With Gddr6 20 series on the far horizon I don't really see any significant GPU price changes happening until after its release. The 6700 would allow the 1070 to more full spread her wings. With the 1070 in your rig it would be a slightly CPU bound setup. The 1070 would still be the card I would pair with that CPU.With the release of Kaby Lake later this month the prices of the previous generation should go down. Let's say you upgrade to the 6700K in a year or so. Sometimes it's better to spend $200 now and $200 later rather than $400 now. ![]() In advance of what? As time goes by these cards will get less expensive and/or better cards will come out. ![]() However you seem to be looking for some longevity. The 1060 would be a great balanced pairing. The 1070 exceeds the performance level of the 4770. I'd be gaming at 1080p so I realize those cards are a little overkill, but I'd rather have them in advance and get great fps at 1080p for now so long as my i7 4770 won't cause problems with one of those newer cards.Īny tips/recommendations? Thank you. ![]() I have an i7 4770 (not K) and was wondering if a card like the EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 FTW or 1070 FTW would cause performance issues with the processor. I'm planning on replacing my EVGA Geforce GTX 980 because its fans went out unexpectedly, making the card easily overheat. ![]()
